Course structure

The Instrument Rating (IR) course is designed for pilots holding a PPL or CPL who wish to gain the skills and privileges to operate in IFR conditions. The training also includes PBN (Performance Based Navigation) operations, enabling you to conduct approaches with decision heights as low as 200 feet.

The total course duration depends on student availability.

Ground School

Flight Training

Flight training

  • Single Engine IR (SEP): min 50 hours
  • 1 final skill test
  • Multi Engine IR (MEP): min 55 hours
  • 1 final skill test

Flight activities include:

  • SEP IR: 35h simulator + 15h* aircraft
  • IR SEP: 40h simulator + 15h* aircraft MEP
  • *If you already hold a CPL, 10 hours of basic instrument training are credited.
